In this work, I explore the connection between elegance, emotion, and spontaneous painterly gesture. The depicted woman appears like a fleeting memory—simultaneously present and distant. I am not interested in realistic representation, but rather in the atmosphere that arises between figure and color.
I work with an expressive, impulsive brushstroke. Bold, visible brushstrokes and impasto applications of paint lend the surface movement and energy.… The forms partially dissolve, creating space for interpretation and emotion. The dynamic lines in the garment and hat, in particular, generate a rhythmic flow across the entire canvas.
The color palette thrives on intense contrasts: luminous turquoise, deep ultramarine, and vibrant accents meet light, airy background tones. This creates a tension between tranquility and expressiveness. The light seems to emanate less from outside and more from the color itself.
