About this artwork
Linnea did this silk painting after her hike over the Pyrenees - part of the Camino de Santiago. At the top of the Pyrenees are many wild horses and this was one of them. The Pyrenees are beautiful and she wants to return. It is painted on silk but the choices did not include silk so we had to chose cotton.

Linnea Pergola is an experimented painter and textile artist based now in South Africa, whose works have been exhibited nationally in the United States, as well as in Switzerland, Germany, Puerto Rico, and Qatar. Her love of nature is apparent in her diverse compositions, as she often portrays both animals and birds. As such, Pergola is an advocate for animal rights and the unjust treatment of animals. Her incredibly detailed pieces are created with pencils, encaustics and oils, watercolors, and ink on paper or fabric.
