About this artwork
The rose bushes in the front of my neighbour's garden are quite old and have survived many things - droughts, storms and floating ash from nearby bushfires are just the more recent. Their richly coloured blooms, heady scent and gloriously velvety texture continue to unfurl every year regardless of global pandemics. The flowers themselves also have hidden depths - they hide their secrets well.
