About this artwork
La Mare Spumans follows the construction of a triptych on the subject of the moon and space. The painter is influenced by her environment. She still observes the moon and for her, her place in the cosmos resonates in her heart. She is drawn to the fundamental nature and origin of sensible things. The Mare Spumans is one of the seas of the moon. People who observe the moon from another planet could almost touch it, its proximity reassures them by… its radiation. They come there to ease their tensions.
« [I seek to] be free while accessing vulnerability, to call the viewer to that which is intangible. »
Lisbeth Buonanno is an award-winning French artist whose work has been exhibited in Singapore, Paris, and Guangzhou. Buonanno creates her own materials and glazes and is interested in the small, universal moments of life. Influenced by American realism, her works are both charming and haunting. A vein of nostalgia runs through these slices of life, each of which has a luminous quality and tells a captivating story.
