About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture a movement between the cosmic and the human, where the golden moon embraces the stellar darkness. The sun embraces the moon is inspired by historical and period Korean films. The moon and the sun are omnipresent in Korean tradition. The poetry that emerges from them has strongly influenced my work in my choice to work with these elements, just like the kite symbolizing freedom and innocence. Naturally, the scene…
is intended to be fantastic, timeless. This painting is part of a series on the curvature of space-time and can be associated on order with other paintings to form a triptych or a diptych. The real gold leaf symbolizes the power of Using oil, tempera and gilding, I painted human figures who, together, contemplate and tend towards a universe filled with mysteries and promises. My painting is an invitation to dive into the unknown, driven by hope and the beauty of the unattainable.
