About this artwork
This work was created during my residency at the Manoir de la Moissie in the Périgord Noir region, following my discovery of the Carsac water gardens. Aquatic ecosystems fascinate me, and I pay homage to them through my canvases, using my emotions to reinterpret the experience of our encounter. This painting invites the viewer to an immersion that is both peaceful and dynamic.

Laurianne Birre is a painter and visual artist trained in applied arts, then enriched by a self-taught career guided by travel, diving and collaboration with ocean stakeholders. She works on paper and canvas, mixing washes, glazes, opaque passages of acrylic and inks, enhanced with pastel, linocut and collage, to compose an organic universe evoking marine ecosystems.
