About this artwork
In this piece, I sought to capture the resilience of nature and the unstoppable power of time through a unique location that left a deep impression on me. I discovered this extraordinary, hollow tree during a hiking trip to Transylvania, nestled among the wild cliffs and trails of the Turda Gorge.
In the painting, the weathered trunk and the cave-like hollow of the tree preserve the memories of the past, while the fresh green foliage and the dense… moss covering the bark proclaim the eternal cycle of life and renewal. I strived to render every small detail—the rough texture of the bark, the autumn leaves fallen upon the stony ground, and the stream winding quietly in the background—with the same fidelity as they appeared before me in the depths of the gorge. For me, this work is not just a landscape, but a personal memory of the breathtaking power of Transylvania.
