About this artwork
'Sunsets with You' is a personal painting for me, I painted this in the heart of lockdown, where life was quiet and somewhat broken. We had found out my mother had cancer, I had been told my day job was suspended a few months, I was battling with who I was and I'd not long moved back from London to Bedfordshire.
I spent those days looking after my mum and nights painting in my studio. This is where my first specialised collection Arose. I put… every emotion and feeling I had into every piece, the ups and downs, highs and lows and I created the most wonderful pieces I'd ever made. When I felt life was falling apart, I met a special someone. Through not being able to see each other physically, we made it work. We would imagine looking over a sunset view together.
We still watch sunsets together.
