About this artwork
In this version of Eden, I accentuated the light and transparency in order to give this more figurative than abstract landscape a supernatural character, the unreal atmosphere coming mainly from the areas of bright light whose source cannot be guessed with certainty. The spatial perspective, for its part, contributes to bringing a little realism to this natural setting in the same way as certain plant-like elements evoking different shapes of leaves.…
Many layers of glazed paint were necessary to represent the diaphanous aspect of the body of water and the hanging vegetation. The dominant blue colors also accentuates this impression of a magical and mysterious atmosphere. This work was punctuated by a certain number of pauses allowing the necessary step back to achieve this fragile balance between figuration and abstraction.

Luc Andrieux is an artist based in France whose works have been presented in several solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. For him, painting is like a vital necessity. Through his compositions, Andrieux's goal is to generate a questioning contemplation, to freeze time and to induce an atmosphere suggested by the hidden face of the elements. His abstractions, landscapes and figurative works are most often created using acrylics on canvas, oil being reserved for the treatment of more complex effects. Luc Andrieux does not limit himself to a particular style or theme that would limit his expression but chooses those that are most in line with his vision of the moment.
