About this artwork
In this work, I make saturated hues predominate, half composed of warm colors. It is a dynamic canvas resulting from a primarily gestural approach and the result of letting go under control. The touches of paint were applied with single brush strokes, superimposed and without mixing in order to maintain their shine. The faded shades in the background of the canvas were made in washes, the addition of water generating drips which, by their static…
appearance, accentuate by contrast the impression of movements in the foreground. After having mentally defined the overall composition, I let improvisation guide my gestures in order to preserve all the spontaneity necessary for this joyful visual explosion, both strong and light.

Luc Andrieux is an artist based in France whose works have been presented in several solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. For him, painting is like a vital necessity. Through his compositions, Andrieux's goal is to generate a questioning contemplation, to freeze time and to induce an atmosphere suggested by the hidden face of the elements. His abstractions, landscapes and figurative works are most often created using acrylics on canvas, oil being reserved for the treatment of more complex effects. Luc Andrieux does not limit himself to a particular style or theme that would limit his expression but chooses those that are most in line with his vision of the moment.
