About this artwork
I have been painting these critters for over ten years. In this year 2024, I sought to give them a new lease of life. Their minimalist side is accentuated, without losing their personality. In this collection, modern combines with old.
For this collection, the name "Les Zygomatiques" was chosen, a name that makes you smile, but not without logic, since it is a muscle, the one that allows us to laugh.

Luc Villard is a French painter whose art has been featured in several solo and group exhibitions in France. His abstract pieces contain themes of hidden faces and invented languages. Street art and 'Les Shadocks' (a French animated cartoon created by Jacques Rouxel which aired 1968–1974) have also influenced his compositions. Villard uses both dry and oil pastels, as well as acrylics, on cotton or linen canvases.
