About this artwork
I painted this work intuitively, letting my emotions guide my actions. I began by applying a beige ground that provides a soft, warm base. Then, I alternated between a spatula and a brush to lay down the vibrant colors, creating both strong textures and delicate blends. To further enrich the material, I used oil pastels, adding velvety, nuanced touches that contrast with the more expressive flat areas of paint. Each technique played a role in balancing…
the composition: the spatula brings energy and movement, the brush softens and fluidifies, and the pastels add an extra dimension. I also turned the canvas several times to test different perspectives and choose the most relevant visual harmony.
