It's a form of expression and creativity.
The artist has designed the garments and envisioned the models for this painting; she has also up-cycled the ornate frame.
The frame is very well made and has been sanded back and varnished to coordinate with the background of the periwinkle blue (cornflour… blue). Living so close to the Great Barrier reef, environmental issues are always a concern. If the artist can resource quality materials, she will.

Luisa Manea is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist based in Australia whose works have been exhibited nationally. In her artistic practice, she fuses textile art with fashion design and sculpture.
