I created this artwork using a new technique I am experimenting with. Laying a ground of paint on the canvas, letting it dry and going back in and adding a smaller ground which will eventually become my portrait to work from . There are many moments of starting and stopping to ensure the colours remain vibrant and don’t get muddying my over working with wet paint. This comes with many decades of experience. I love my art and when you buy my piece you allow me to keep on creating.

Luisa Manea is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist based in Australia whose works have been exhibited nationally. In her artistic practice, she fuses textile art with fashion design and sculpture. Manea believes that, in the future, both art and fashion will interflow, inspiring us to be unique individuals and "accepting a more diverse culture of people". Her painterly compositions are most often created with acrylics on canvas.
