About this artwork
"The seed is a truly 'feminine' work of art. In a color field in a red of amaranth blossoms, which depicts a pregnant woman from the side, her child can still be clearly seen in her womb. And this symbolizes the 'seed' of the new matriarchy . It constitutes the awakening of female self-awareness, the distant perception of her sphere of knowledge and her own skills that need to be developed. A fleeting, golden light surrounds the woman and radiates…
from her and her lap. The colors on this canvas are particularly good chosen as they are depicted on wide fields of warm red, white ivory, gold and brown. Lines and small spots of color convey a strong pathos about a dark plot. "

« "A foreboding feeling lives within me, unshaped and without imagination. In the course of the creative act, this takes shape in painted works. I let myself be carried away by the joy of experimenting." »
Barbaras BilderKunst has won several awards for her paintings, which have been extensively exhibited in Europe and the United States. She lives and creates in the microstate of Liechtenstein, situated in the Alps. BilderKunst describes her works as concrete art, which comprises elements of collage painting, assemblage, mixed media, and painting fragment. The themes she expresses are “as complex as life” and represent her attitudes towards colour, shape and symbolism.
