About this artwork
Luzena's play with color, matter and collages allows a work to be created unintentionally. Between the different layers there is a lively color pouring with orange, which in turn is covered with gesso. The artist is amazed at the change that the work is experiencing by using a glaze of burned iron oxide. Surfaces are brightened up again and designed with fine glazes, a deepening effect is achieved by applying ink in a very thin glaze technique. A…

Barbaras BilderKunst has won several awards for her paintings, which have been extensively exhibited in Europe and the United States. She lives and creates in the microstate of Liechtenstein, situated in the Alps. BilderKunst describes her works as concrete art, which comprises elements of collage painting, assemblage, mixed media, and painting fragment. The themes she expresses are “as complex as life” and represent her attitudes towards colour, shape and symbolism.
