About this artwork
L'avantage du Covid-19 et du confinement, c'était que l'on ne pouvait aller nulle part et que l'inspiration devait venir de soi-même, dans mon cas, de l'imagination.
This contemporary canvas can be classified as a whimsical surrealism.
With originality and exuberant imagination, Liberté is a complex composition that embodies grace and sensuality, as well as meditation and a dialogue with the intimate and silent universe. You can appreciate the colors… and the beauty of life, where you can enjoy an unparalleled calm.
I've been creative since childhood. From a young age, I started drawing, writing little stories, and making dresses for my dolls. I inherited my creativity from my mother, who was a renowned haute couture seamstress. I've always drawn. After my studies, I went to work in Paris where I met my husband in 1976, a Dutchman. It was love at first sight and I went to live in the Netherlands. After my studies, I went to work in Paris where I met my husband in 1976; he is Dutch. It was love at first sight, and I moved to the Netherlands. After work, I devoted my free time to painting, particularly realistic and surrealist paintings. I wanted to improve my style and technique in the art of painting. I took lessons, learned from other artist: In 1979-1980, I took courses at the "Artibus" Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht. From 2012-2014 I took classes with the artist Miriam Wijs. September 2018/ October 2019 I painted at Leone Tonkins's place, she had worked as a restorer at the Louvre.
