About this artwork
Flower Field, like all the paintings on this subject, is an ode to nature. It marks the beginning of the flower season in the Netherlands. This painting is deeply rooted in reality; the oil on canvas technique allows me to work with depth, using warm colors. A unique atmosphere of the Netherlands. The precision of the drawing, the clarity of the forms. We can freely wander within the precision of the drawing. The brushstrokes create a harmonious… balance in delicate tones that compose everyday life. You can rediscover a real world at the heart of a scene that makes up our daily lives. It is the quiet beauty of the world that unfolds before our eyes. I work by capturing a photograph of the perfect moment in nature, continuing my painting in a quiet place where my work is truly mine. You can perceive details that have become invisible and rediscover emotions and memories buried deep within; inviting you to find a form of truth in the harmony of the tranquil beauty of the world that unfolds
I've been creative since childhood. From a young age, I started drawing, writing little stories, and making dresses for my dolls. I inherited my creativity from my mother, who was a renowned haute couture seamstress. I've always drawn. After my studies, I went to work in Paris where I met my husband in 1976, a Dutchman. It was love at first sight and I went to live in the Netherlands. After my studies, I went to work in Paris where I met my husband in 1976; he is Dutch. It was love at first sight, and I moved to the Netherlands. After work, I devoted my free time to painting, particularly realistic and surrealist paintings. I wanted to improve my style and technique in the art of painting. I took lessons, learned from other artist: In 1979-1980, I took courses at the "Artibus" Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht. From 2012-2014 I took classes with the artist Miriam Wijs. September 2018/ October 2019 I painted at Leone Tonkins's place, she had worked as a restorer at the Louvre.
