About this artwork
Exotic Walk was created during the lockdown period. My art evolved, as I have previously mentioned in other paintings, my art took a new direction, while still respecting my way of painting. I used a medium to work in layers to maintain the same effect as with oil.
It is a fantasy in a vibrant world. I let myself be filled with a deep inner peace. I tried to create a soothing visual journey with bright colours, the energy that emerges is positive.… An escape from the inside.
Exotic Walk is a unique work.
I've been creative since childhood. From a young age, I started drawing, writing little stories, and making dresses for my dolls. I inherited my creativity from my mother, who was a renowned haute couture seamstress. I've always drawn. After my studies, I went to work in Paris where I met my husband in 1976, a Dutchman. It was love at first sight and I went to live in the Netherlands. After my studies, I went to work in Paris where I met my husband in 1976; he is Dutch. It was love at first sight, and I moved to the Netherlands. After work, I devoted my free time to painting, particularly realistic and surrealist paintings. I wanted to improve my style and technique in the art of painting. I took lessons, learned from other artist: In 1979-1980, I took courses at the "Artibus" Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht. From 2012-2014 I took classes with the artist Miriam Wijs. September 2018/ October 2019 I painted at Leone Tonkins's place, she had worked as a restorer at the Louvre.
