About this artwork
This watercolor, inspired by Lake Tyrrell in Australia, shows an aerial abstraction of the landscape with colors ranging from olive green and ochre to blue, highlighting a body of water in a vivid magenta color. Part of my childhood was spent in the Sahara Desert, where I was impressed by the intense colors of the salt lakes, which connected me deeply with Lake Tyrrell (attached image of this wonderful lake). The work, 100x100 cm, is painted in vegan… watercolor on cotton paper and framed in a white American box. It does not require glass because my watercolors have a protective varnish. It was exhibited in one of the best galleries in Barcelona. Many works from this series are now part of law offices, hotels and embassies, as you can see in the images. I invite you to discover the world through my watercolor.
Trained in Fine Arts, Macarena Sanz transitions fluidly from oil to graphite, but it is in the magic of watercolor where she finds her voice. With a bold technique that challenges the limits between figurativism and abstraction, Sanz approaches large formats to explore serenity in the face of chaos. His works are an oasis of tranquility that invite you to find calm amid the storm of daily life.
