About this artwork
In this work, I explore lost innocence, represented by the central figure, a unicorn that has visibly suffered! This conceptual painting is the second of a diptych: this unicorn has a twin sister with a smile and inverted colors that allows them to be stuck together (as you can see in the photos). This work nevertheless has its own existence and can be appreciated on its own: its bright pop art-style colors irresistibly attract the eye.
Mahrk Gotié, from a writing background, uses acrylic Posca on canvas and paper. His style, devoid of embellishments, focuses on simplicity to encourage the exchange of emotions. Oscillating between various styles, he explores themes of disenchanted childhood, chaos and experimentation. His works, both intimate and personal, exude authenticity and invite sober reflection on appearance and communication.
