About this artwork
Fragmented Continuum – Genesis marks the origin of the series and forms the first visual expression of its central idea: the connection of individual fragments to form a continuous whole.
The work consists of ten independent image fields that together create a cohesive movement. Organic structures, flowing cells, and mineral textures migrate from fragment to fragment, creating a landscape between memory, matter, and emotion.
Layers of gold, violet,… green, and earthy colors overlap like sediments in an inner archive. Despite the clear geometric order, the surface remains vibrant, unpredictable, and in constant transformation.
Genesis represents the beginning of an open continuum — a visual system in which each fragment is both independent and part of a larger, infinite movement.
Maja Weller is an accomplished painter who uses acrylic and modeling paste, pigments and lime, gold foil and art metal in her works. Her artistic practice is characterized by spontaneous expression, while her techniques create a special dynamic and texture in the paintings. Her artworks, although abstract, represent harmonious reflections of the past, present and future, inviting the viewer to linger in the present moment.
