In my work, acrylic, ink and pigment merge to create a deep, abstract landscape, illuminated by the gleam of gilding. This painting is an emotional storm that reflects the dynamic, unfathomable depths of the human soul. TETHYS: The sea was named… after Tethys, who was a sea goddess in ancient Greek mythology, a mother of sea nymphs and the great rivers, lakes and fountains of the world.
All around the periphery of the Tethys Ocean/Sea were continental shelves, portions of Earth's continents submerged beneath shallow seas. In the mild waters, these shelves would have been home to extensive reef ecosystems bursting with color and diversity.
