About this artwork
Freddie Mercury was a British musician and a significant rock singer of the 1970s and 80s. He became known as the co-founder, songwriter, and lead singer of the band Queen. Mercury wrote several global hits, including "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Are the Champions," "Don't Stop Me Now," and "Living on My Own." Mercury was also known as "The Diva" or "The Last Diva of Rock" because of his extravagant performance style in his large stage shows and his… extraordinary voice. This voice was also suitable for operatic pieces, partly because it spanned several octaves. His voice spanned several octaves, and Mercury could effortlessly switch between different vocal ranges, making him an ideal partner for the opera singer Montserrat Caballé.
The painting was created with acrylic and oil paints, ink, pencil, and paint marker on canvas and stretcher frame, and is hand-signed and dated. It has also been varnished.
Manuela Reitz mainly uses acrylic paints, sometimes in combination with watercolors. She uses experimental techniques, with quick, intuitive gestures and the targeted placement of accents with paint markers and black ink. Inspired by nature and childhood motifs, she creates pictures that can be read like books. Her art aims to generate happiness, to enable an emotional journey that touches the heart and makes you forget space and time.
