About this artwork
In this work, I used oil paint to explore the depths of abstraction and expressionism. I wanted to capture a whirlwind of emotions and thoughts, allowing each brushstroke to glide freely across the canvas, creating rich textures and enigmatic layers. Marc Janus is a Spanish artist whose paintings have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. His intention is to convey beauty through his art, as it is "everywhere and you just have to stop to look". Janus' research into the wooden blocks used in ancient Egyptian culture to decorate fabrics has influenced his artistic expression over the past twelve years. He creates order then destroys it, producing an engaging balance that lives in chaos and disorder.
