About this artwork
Harry Houdini, is an American illusionist of Hungarian origin. He emigrated with his family to the United States, at the age of 4 years. He becomes a professional magician and begins to call himself "Harry Houdini" because he admires the French magician Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin.
Before becoming famous, he is the tour companion of the Three Keatons in a "Medicine Show".
His best tricks are to escape from a trunk filled with water, closed and… chained, or a metal tin.
Houdini dies of a peritonitis consecutive to a rupture of the appendix.
He is not Italian, as I had thought at first. And it takes its name from a French magician while being Hungarian having emigrated to the US Like what magically: "tutto il mondo e paese". No luck Harry met Rubens one day, and yet everyone is a country.
