About this artwork
In my work "High in the Sky," I completely detach the motifs from any terrestrial connection. The gannets become pure ciphers in an endless, sepia-toned space.
I use the soft, almost feathery structure of the cloud formations as a background to emphasize the "rhythmic geometry" of the birds. My gaze focuses on the isolated form and the dynamics of flight, which, in this reduced palette, acquire an almost graphic rigor. The work is a reflection on… freedom and absolute detachment, with the birds appearing like floating particles in a fluid atmosphere—a consistent continuation of my search for order within the boundless expanse of nature.
