About this artwork
In the "Labyrinth" series, I search for the nameless behind walls and corners. "Crooked… Alley" captures the moment when certainty ends: around the bend, a story begins that I don't yet know. The sepia tone takes the noise of the present away from the scene and lets the surface speak: scratches, edges, traces. I don't want to soothe the feeling of being lost, only accompany it—until it tips over in anticipation. The alley is not a passageway, it is a question. I offer no view, only the curve. Beyond it lies what is waiting to be discovered—or what will make us disappear again.
