About this artwork
Two nearly identical figures, enclosed within separate frames, reach out toward one another. Their geometric silhouettes, suits, and the repetitive nature of their gestures evoke a world where everything has its place and a defined form. Yet, within this orderly scene, something emerges that cannot be reduced to mere convention. It is not a formal handshake, but rather an attempt to establish contact-perhaps a need for support, or simply a desire…
to touch someone on the other side.
The title combines the English word "men" with the prefix "inter-" denoting that which lies between. This creates a term that can be interpreted as the name for the space existing between people. In the image, this space serves simultaneously as a boundary and a meeting point. The figures remain distinct, yet their resemblance suggests that they may be grappling with the same situation. Are they trying to reach out to another human being, or are they seeking to find their own reflection in the other?

« Every time I start a new painting, I can't wait to see the result. When I finish, I can't wait to start a new one. »
Marcin Lenczowski is a Polish artist whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally. His artistic expression focuses on individuals who are often portrayed in opposition to broader society. Lenczowski's compositions express feelings of alienation, loneliness, and the need for self-expression in juxtaposition to the environment, and the preservation of identity in modern society. He emphasizes minimalistic methods, including
strong contouring and contrasting colors, "rather than imposing the meaning of art".
