The print depicts an elegantly dressed man holding masks with expressionless, emotionless faces. The subject of the composition also seems to lose his identity—his face is covered with another mask. The work was created using monotype—a unique printmaking technique in which an image is created by pressing paper against a sheet of glass covered with printing ink and then "drawing" on the reverse. Characteristic features of this method include soft, slightly blurred structures, friction marks, and surface irregularities. These are the very characteristics that give the composition its unique, expressive character. Each monotype is unique, one of a kind. The work is framed in a 50x70cm aluminium frame.
