About this artwork
"Reconfiguration III" is a diptych in which the artist explores themes of visual deconstruction and reconstruction. Both panels depict the same motif—a silhouette of a man in a red suit and blue tie. The absence of a face is a distinctive feature in the artist's work.
One panel presents the figure in a clear, almost formal version, emphasizing anonymity and universality. The other panel shows the same figure fragmented into a grid of squares, which… are rearranged to create a sense of chaos and fragmentation.
The works can be interpreted as a process of deconstruction, moving from a clear, ordered composition to a state of disarray and uncertainty. Alternatively, they can be seen as a stage of reconstruction—from chaos to structure. This approach invites viewers to reflect on the fluidity and multiplicity of ways identity and form can be perceived.
« Every time I start a new painting, I can't wait to see the result. When I finish, I can't wait to start a new one. »
Marcin Lenczowski is a Polish artist whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally. His artistic expression focuses on individuals who are often portrayed in opposition to broader society. Lenczowski's compositions express feelings of alienation, loneliness, and the need for self-expression in juxtaposition to the environment, and the preservation of identity in modern society. He emphasizes minimalistic methods, including strong contouring and contrasting colors, "rather than imposing the meaning of art".
