About this artwork
Man has forced the balance of Nature: a single large spotlight illuminates the scene like an artificial sun, a metaphor for the upheavals produced by man that lead to the pandemic.
Death has captured attention on the global stage, exposing the vulnerability and resilience of the human being.
Dry, twisted and broken branches are metaphors of interrupted lives. The woman who screams personifies the desperation… of those who survive.
Wood is not only a support but also the soul of the painting thanks to its veins and color that re-emerge in several points used as a pictorial material. In some cases large backgrounds are left visible and not hidden by the color. In other cases there are real applications of wooden materials (branches, elements of recycled wood, fragments, etc.) which bring fragments of real life into the work.
