About this artwork
In my drawing I explore the fusion of realism and surrealism. I used colored pencils to create a representation that is both lifelike and symbolic. The object - a bottle with a leather handle - is richly detailed and is intended to inspire those who view it to think about value and transience. It is a play with the contrast of materials that awakens the senses and creates a special atmosphere in every room.

Marco Spitzar is an award-winning draftsman whose works have been featured in several solo exhibitions in Austria. He believes that we are born glued to the world, detached and heavy from imprints and stories to which we stick. Spitzar has used UHU adhesive in his the creation of his compositions for over forty-years, making new surface structures that also allow his imagery to remain transparent.
