About this artwork
Realism and surrealism merge in my artwork. Using colored pencils, I created a door in the room that exudes invitation and mystery. The figurative sense arouses curiosity – where could it lead? The fine details and warm colors are intended to bring peace and excitement into your home. My emotion while drawing was the possibility of unlimited perspectives behind closed doors.

Marco Spitzar is an award-winning draftsman whose works have been featured in several solo exhibitions in Austria. He believes that we are born glued to the world, detached and heavy from imprints and stories to which we stick. Spitzar has used UHU adhesive in his the creation of his compositions for over forty-years, making new surface structures that also allow his imagery to remain transparent.
