About this artwork
I created the work "Cathartic Basin" for my exhibition "Vienna in the Field," Theseus Temple, Vienna, 1992. It was intended to call for a purification of world affairs; one might consider, for example, the situation in the Balkans after the opening of Eastern Europe. This work has survived the test of time with only minor, restorable damage, and its basic structure—the casing of the hemispherical basin, which was filled with approximately 1500 liters…
of water during the exhibition—was incorporated into the work "IRON DOME daily" in 2025. (See "IRON DOME daily")
