About this artwork
When I lived in Shanghai I visited a number of old, former, factories in the city and also in Beijing. There were bare concrete walls and black lines, some walls were painted white. Light shone through windows. Often these former factory halls were clean and, like in 798, converted to artist studios or galleries.
