About this artwork
In this expressive oil diptych, living in the mountains where half of the year is winter, I tried to capture winter’s stark, powerful essence. I chose to limit the colours to capture the feeling of late afternoons, when the sun is gone and the landscape is just black and white. This artwork invites the viewer to feel the serene beauty of a mountain winter landscape.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Marcus Fedder, a painter trained at Central St Martin’s in London, works primarily with oil and acrylic on canvas and cardboard. His neo-expressionist technique ranges from wild, energetic brushwork to structured, serene compositions, often exploring mountain and seascapes, Chinese-inspired scenes, and both colorful and monochromatic abstracts. Through his art, he conveys hope, light, and serenity—offering structure, color, and calm in a chaotic world.
