ORANGES IN THE RIVER is part of a series of original photographs shot with 400 ISO black and white film, a 6x6cm and 6x7cm analog camera, with the theme PATHS OF THE BODY. In 2002, the year I took the original photos for this essay, they were based on texts that told stories and myths of bucolic life, especially in small towns far from large urban centers. I believe they must have similarities worldwide. The river in our image is shallow, with clear… water and a rocky bottom. On summer days, it's nice to lie down on the riverbed to cool off, with oranges and citrus fruits ideal for our story. The vintage, playful atmosphere, the apparent sensuality of the black and white image, and the contrast of natural light. It's an intimate dance between stillness and subtle energy, aiming to bring a contemplative and calming presence to your space.
Born into a lineage of photographers, Marcus Luconi skillfully harnesses the emotive power of light in his photographs. His natural and intuitive approach unveils beauty, intimacy, and respect in captivating ways. Luconi's art embodies the core principles of beauty and humanity, provoking thought and pleasure in his observers.
