About this artwork
Technique mix; a process Leonardo The reef and the human figure are living organisms and interdependent. Both are pressured by forces larger than themselves, both have remarkable resilience, and are threatened by thresholds of recovery being impossible. reliant on reefs for their livelihood. Reefs protect shorelines and feed fish. Reefs provide medicine for people. The ocean can feed our increasing population but not human greed. Coral and humans are the alike subjects for me, different looking life forms. By painting coral portraits in the same process as the Monalisa I strive to make the continuity felt before it is argued. If the viewer can see our oneness, the vulnerability of the reef is indistinguishable from our own. Will the destruction of reefs be the wake up call to save humanity?

She uses mixed painting techniques inspired by Old Masters, and sculpts in clay and bronze, exploring a dynamic interplay of realism and abstraction with a focus on rhythm, light, and natural form. Her art powerfully conveys empathy, urgency, and a profound reverence for both individual stories and the living world, inviting viewers into an unguarded, deeply felt response to social justice and environmental fragility.
