About this artwork
In this piece, I poured raw emotion into vibrant, sweeping lines and bold colors to show how I see the seaside in The Netherlands. The restless waves and soaring birds, kitesurfers and sailingboats embody freedom and longing, while the dreamy purple sky stirs a peaceful yet intense energy. This painting invites you to feel the pulse of the sea and escape into a world where expression reigns supreme—infusing any space with a lively, contemplative…
spirit. Do you long for the seaside as well? PS: this painting is on very hard cardboard, like wood.

Margreet Poolman, a painter with lifelong dedication and formal training in Amsterdam (MKXtra 1) and Rome (RomeArtProgram.org), creates vivid works using expressive lines and vibrant colors. Her dynamic technique fuses joyful figurative scenes of city life and nature with occasional abstractions, all infused with brightness and humor. Her art radiates optimism, playfully encouraging viewers to find joy even in life’s challenges. She experiments with different styles and techniques, but you can see her hand in all of her work.
