In this work, the artist, Maria Bevilacqua-Fischer, has captured the poignancy and depth of the ocean, the feelings of mystery and awe that its unfathomable expanses evoke.
In many shades of blue, some of which change to greenish, and some warm, shimmering copper color, she has created an abstract, impressionistic composition that represents a symbolic world beneath the surface of the water. With some cement she created a partially jagged texture… that gives the work additional tension.
This painting brings an aura of introspection and inspiration to any room, a whispering invitation to dream and explore, and also makes an excellent unique gift.
