About this artwork
This drawing is based on the world famous Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan. This hotel features the longest porch in the world as well as being on an island where no motorized vehicles are allowed. It is as you are stepping back in time to a place of simplicity and grandeur. During this magical visit to Mackinac Island I was able to sit back and relax on one of the porches many rocking chairs where I could take in the many sounds of horses… clopping, lake huron in the distance, and horns sounding from ships in the harbor. I even had the opportunity to play mini golf, cornhole, and sip on some lemonade on the great lawn.
This drawing is full of so much life and detail it as if you are standing in front of The Grand Hotel yourself. It is the perfect window to take you right into the heart of Mackinac Island and experience The Grand Hotel every day.
