About this artwork
The work reproduces, using Fluid Art technique and brushed acrylic finishes, the cover of a famous album by the musical group Depeche Mode. I decided to reproduce this image in my own style because I was struck by the force of the figure's fluid movement, which evokes the tradition of the peasant world of the past. The figure seems to want to cut off, with its gesture, the sky from the wheat field; that is, to trace a "boundary line" (a broken frame)…
between them. I therefore reproduced the subject's vibrant colors and fluid movements both in the wheat field and in the sky. The use of fluid acrylic allowed me to create dynamic textures that evoke energy and, simultaneously, combine feelings of popular roots and pop music culture.
