About this artwork
This painting is inspired by the late 1960s cult film "Easy Rider." Specifically, I depicted Peter Fonda's character, Captain America, wearing a leather jacket and with the American flag draped over his shoulders, gazing into the depths of the Grand Canyon at sunset. To create the rocks and mountains, I used the Fluid Art technique, which means I poured and mixed colors directly onto the canvas. In this painting, I wanted to capture the freedom and… strength of American individualism, using vibrant colors and a soul-warming pop realism. The protagonist, gazing lost in the surreal landscape, creates an emotional tension, evoking an inner and outer journey. This work will bring a timeless piece of cinematic history into your home; a vibrant energy emanating from its colors and the profound reflections of its subject.
DLM Elena uses painting, photography, drawing, and digital techniques, with a background in architecture and art history that sharpens her eye on form and light. Experimenting with watercolors, oils, inks, sprays, and mixed media, she weaves diverse materials into dynamic, textured compositions, guided by a constant stylistic evolution. Her works, where literature, mythology, nature, and music merge, convey energy, introspection, and freedom, inviting the viewer to lose themselves in color and rediscover profound, personal emotions.
