« For me, painting is a sacred adventure. Through the brush, light comes down from heaven to earth and is anchored in the fabric by means of color and form. »
Maria Varas is an artist based in Argentina whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States, France, and England. Referring to her works as "sacred art", she explores themes relating to spirituality, alchemy, ancient esoteric traditions, astrology, magic, healing plants, trees, nature, and the sacred feminine. Varas' distincitve style fuses elements of pre-Raphaelism, Art Nouveau, symbolism, Baroque, the Renaissance and magical realism.
