"A profound study of time and resilience, What Remains captures the journey of driftwood to the furthest edges of the world. Painted over the course of a full year, this work evolved through the changing seasons of the Canadian landscape—from the heat of summer sunflowers to the silent arrival of winter snow.
Originally inspired by a moment of restraint during a high-altitude hike, the artist chose to preserve the wood's memory through pigment rather… than consume it for warmth. The result is a layered, soulful meditation on the artifacts we are forbidden to keep, but allowed to remember. A quiet anchor of the 'Chemin Poétique' collection."
