About this artwork
When I first put my brushes to the canvas, I was inspired by the vibrant energy of the market. Using acrylics, I captured the bustle of passersby and the warm atmosphere that can only be found amidst colorful stalls and bustling terraces. This semi-abstract style breathes life into ordinary yet beautiful scenes of everyday life, inviting conversation and connection. This artwork will be a source of energy and conversation in your home, a reminder… of the joyful simplicity of shared moments.
The perspective was deliberately off-center to remove any rigidity from the subject. Similarly, the use of pure whites emphasizes the light emanating from the canvas.
« Do not leave the viewer indifferent, create emotion. »
Marie Ferrand is an artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. She describes the central themes in her art as relating to scenes inspired by life, humans, and their joys and sorrows. Ferrand primarily creates with acrylics, as their fast-drying quality suits her spontaneous brushstrokes. In addition, she employs mixed techniques with impasto and collage on canvas.
