About this artwork
It was on the banks of the Endre in the Var that I found my inspiration. I like to walk there.
My landscape, vast and wet, is enriched with the ocher light of the nearby Esterel. I often work the sky in ocher shades, as if it were absorbing the mineral particles of the earth.
Here, I have frozen the moment at the end of the day when time seems to stop. A strong heat blankets the landscape.
The thick, colorful touch gives a lot of strength to the… canvas.
Generous and dynamic touches for this landscape in the summer heat.
Oil painting work with a brush, impasto with a knife, on linen canvas mounted on a frame. Satin finishing varnish within the required drying times.
Coming from the pictorial tradition, Marie Josiane Blachon handles oil paint with mastery; his paintings exude the intimate and the atmospheric. His art, characterized by brushstrokes that structure and impasto with a knife that give life and relief, offers an ode to nature by capturing its rhythms and its light. Blachon's works evoke a deep emotion, tending towards an almost spiritual experience of the present, inviting a saving contemplation of nature.
