About this artwork
In this sculpture, I approach the theme of Dance, emphasizing the movement and grace of the female body. Colombine, light and airy, abandons herself to an inner reverie, carried by a quarter of the Moon. Each gesture expresses an emotion: desire, abandonment, vertigo and gentleness blend in a subtle harmony.
Movement here goes beyond simple posture. It becomes a quest for balance, a dialogue between effort and lightness, between dream and matter.…

This bronze was made at the FUSIONS foundry in 63410 Charbonnières-les-Vieilles. This establishment has received the State Label "Living Heritage Company EPV" and the Liliane Bettencourt Prize "For the intelligence of the hand"

Marie-Madeleine Vitrolles is a sculptor based in France whose works have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in Switzerland and Luxembourg. While her pieces are mostly centered around women, it is the human being that challenges her. Through her art, Vitrolles endeavors to show the multifaceted aspects of her subject's inner worlds.
