While painting this piece, I was filled with emotions — a mix of frustration and strength — and I let them flow through my brush. The layers of colour reflect that inner conversation: how to stay generous, but also protect your own space.
The earthy greens, deep blues, and soft lavenders merge with gentle warmth, creating a quiet storm that finds peace in its own rhythm.…
For me, Hold Your Ground is about balance — about knowing when to say yes, and when to lovingly say no.

Marie Manon Corbeil began to paint amidst personal challenges:‘Between sadness and hope, there was art’. Realizing that life’s difficulties provided her with a new means of expression, Corbeil wants to convey a sense of joy within her contemporary abstract works. She draws forms and writes positive words under each canvas before beginning a piece. Employing large brushes to provoke unplanned strokes, she also uses her fingers to optimize the vibrant colors in her compositions.
